Official/signed external image downloads retain the versioned/custom user-agent while omitting provider authentication and request credentials. Same-origin custom proxies retain configured headers. Official polling remains authenticated. Image input capability discovery recognizes FLUX 3.

flux-3-image supports up to ten reference images, 768sq/1k/1.5k/2k/4k resolution, grounding, the latest version and safety tolerance 0–7. Size can derive an aspect ratio; explicit aspect ratio wins. Seed and unsupported legacy fields warn and are omitted; masks fail before submission. Polling recognizes pending/reasoning/generating states and terminates on failed, moderated or missing tasks.

flux-3-image-klein and unknown future image IDs use the latest image API. They accept up to ten references, seed, PNG/JPEG output, 1–16 steps and safety tolerance 0–7. size sends exact dimensions without a warning; provider width/height override it. Both dimensions must be supplied, each from 64 through 6256, with at most 16,822,272 total pixels. Explicit dimensions take precedence over aspect ratio and resolution. Grounding, version and legacy input options are omitted with warnings; masks are unsupported. Known FLUX 1/2 and Kontext IDs keep their existing protocol.

Black Forest Labs image and FLUX 3 video generation mirror upstream 2.0.70: BFL_API_KEY, x-key auth, custom base URL and headers, versioned user-agent suffix, image/imageModel and video/videoModel aliases, black-forest-labs.image and black-forest-labs.video provider IDs, /v1/{model} submit URLs, response-supplied polling with trusted bfl.ai sibling-host credential forwarding, signed result URLs, provider options and warnings, response/provider metadata, and structured errors. Video supports text-to-video, first/last/timed keyframes, continuation, draft generation/enhancement, and settled cost metadata. Unary generation remains source compatible; AsyncVideoModel adds serializable V4 start/status operations, stable idempotent start retries, and shared facade polling. BFL has no native webhook, so a supplied webhook warns and falls back to polling. Language and embedding families remain unsupported. The 2026-09-20 pass enforces wall-clock image polling deadlines that can abort a hung request. File/mask image capabilities are now exposed as async Bool? getters; unrecognized models remain unknown. The 2026-10-11 pass: FLUX 3 Image supports reference images, grounded prompts, resolution/ratio/seed mapping, terminal failure parsing and credential-isolated result downloads. The 2026-10-18 pass: Latest and future image IDs use the current model-specific submit protocol with file inputs, dimension/ratio/resolution controls and safetyTolerance up to 7; known legacy IDs retain their original protocols.

Factory argument requirements are defined by the public Swift factory signatures. Use Public symbols when you need the exact initializer or factory declaration.
