Z.AI mirrors upstream 3.0.40: lazy ZAI_API_KEY bearer authentication, custom base URL and headers, callable/language/chat aliases plus the default zai provider, zai.chat provider IDs, versioned user-agent suffix, current and forward-compatible GLM model IDs, HTTP(S) image/video inputs, validated providerOptions.zai sampling/thinking/reasoning/tool-stream/request/user controls, published unsupported-option and tool-choice warnings, exact request transforms, ordered reasoning/text/tool content including null-content terminal responses, cache-aware usage, transformed request and provider metadata, raw streaming chunks, incremental tool arguments, special finish-reason mappings, abort propagation, and flat or nested Z.AI errors. Embedding and image-generation families are unsupported. ProviderV4 type names, ESM-only packaging, Node 22 engines, TypeScript inference, and workflow serialization helpers are JS-only upstream concerns.
